We are excited to announce three positions in our research group. We are seeking passionate educators and researchers in ecosystem conservation science and biodiversity indicators. The successful candidates will be in our group, part of the Quantitative and Applied Ecology group, the Melbourne Biodiversity Institute and in the School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystems Sciences (SAFES).
The successful candidates will shape conservation frameworks and biodiversity monitoring globally and in Australia, and advance conservation through research and policy innovation. They will drive impactful research, through partnerships across sectors, including governments, civil society, the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
Professor Emily Nicholson’s group conducts world-leading conservation research with impact. Professor Nicholson holds global leadership roles in science and policy, including with the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems and UN Convention on Biological Diversity expert groups. Her research group draws together diverse researchers to tackle real-world problems in conservation. Current projects include a global risk assessment of coral reef ecosystems, developing ecosystem approaches for the private sector, and effective monitoring frameworks.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking institution dedicated to making a lasting impact on people and the planet through innovative education and research.
At the School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystems Sciences (SAFES), we’re dedicated to advancing education and research in environmental and ecosystem sciences, sustainable agriculture, and healthy food systems.
